Design and Implementation of Sub Slab Depressurization System(SSDS) in Las Vegas, Nevada
Background of the Subslab Depressurization System (SSDS)
- 2700 square foot footprint including a former and current dry cleaner
- PCE is the Chemical of Concern (COC)
Pre-Work for the Subslab Depressurization System (SSDS)
- Evaluated PCE concentration spread from assessment data
- Reviewed soil characteristics to design the first cut of SSDS
- Spacing
- Flow rates and design
Construction of Sub slab Depressurization System (SSDS)
- Installed one extraction point and 4 observation points
- Installed a small extraction blower among the machinery already in the suite
- Installed carbon filters on the roof at the request of the client
- All install work performed while dry cleaner in full operation with no interruption
Start-Up, Acceptance, and Operation of the Subslab Depressurization System (SSDS)
- Started up and adjusted vacuum to cover/impact the desired building footprint
